You've been on my mind
for too long a time
You're mine,
since the day we met, you're there
Your face, your smile, I kept under the glass
Forever, hoping it'll last,
but time flies so fast,
I kept that moment static so your image won't pass
Seeing you in there, knowing you're not really here,
the glass breaks to a million diamonds,
cuts the flesh and aches to the bone,
to cry silently as I sing the fool's song in that sad tone
It melts with the blood, fusing in red,
to form that crimson crystal
in the shape of those tears,
each. your name-embossed, your name embedded.
Perhaps goodbye would become history in future,
and all will be in reverse, so as to place your broken
crimson piece on my heart again.
